App to Manage Equal Calling on Students

Problem Description

Calling on students who raise their hand sometimes leads to only the good students daring to raise their hands. Calling on students unprompted often catches them off guard, not ready to answer.

Proposed Solution

A speakers list. Names can be added to a list visible on a screen to the entire room. That way students can raise their hand and be added to the list. But the teacher can also add names, giving students a heads up that it will soon be their turn to add to the discussion. For now, I just use a blank document, but I often wish it could be done by having a list of names, clicking them to be added to the list and maybe some extra functionality, like being moved to the bottom with a click, if not ready to contribute, or random adding of the next name, so it doesn‘t feel like teacher‘s choice. A clock or timer for the whole debate would also be nifty.
