A project management app for a project-based learning classroom

For both yearbook and a project based program, I would like an app where I can easily group students for projects that will have temporary timelines, give tasks to specific groups or whole group, I should be able to attach Rubik’s are supporting documents to the groups. Teams is horrible because there isn’t a single view layout to get the scope of where all groups are in one screen. Plus, one has to dig into too many folders and clicks to get to different groups. If it had grid style checklist for when tasks are done, but the kids and those groups should be able to use that same tool for their own group management. I think I tried Asana at some point. It Expensive and then focussed on a business model that didn’t translate well into an educational setting. The same platform could be used for yearbook classes or different groups are responsible for different areas of a larger-scope project.
